For having held this SILICON SCALLY‘s vinyl, i can say the cover is awesome. I easily spent half an hour to watch all the items (Click on the pix for a bigger size). This graphic design with few color and no gradation representing alright the 00′s vectorial design made via the software ‘Illustrator’. Create an identity for Electronic music is not a easy thing, most of the time the picture is a simple & static photography or a caricatural icon slowing down a kind of personal escapism. Therefore the covers are often under the powerful level of abstraction of the music. Actually, the process of creation of this cover album entitled ‘Bioroid‘ seems pretty close to the concept of robotic music. Indeed, we can see these infinite loops repeated building an hybrid & cold framework.

“The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate” produced by the half of DREXCIYA JAMES STINSON a.k.a TRANSLLUSION is without any doubt one of my favorite Electro-Techno cover. I discovered this one few years before listen the full-length album that is of course a masterpiece.
I Dig this cover, especially its minimalist design which let us imagine our own parallel world (…like the effects of Music do). The geometrical style and the colors are pretty catchy acting as a ‘logotype’ in order to be concentrated on the meaning of the picture. Therefore the cover features many levels of interpretation… However get it or not, the design composed only of straight lines is still very peaceful to watch.
A real inspiration!

On the web, I saw a Top 100 of the worst Hip Hop cover and this one of BANGERS & CASH was on the list. I’m not agree, it’s a dope cover!
A funny homage to the “As Nasty as they wanna be” cover released in the 80′s by 2 LIVE CREW who are the main influence of the BANGERS & CASH productions.
