Hell yeah! The producer that I’ve always seen as the craziest in electronic music is back on Antizer0 label with a new album entitled « A-Zone Telemetry ». Best known by the underground scene for his prolific work under his moniker HEADNOAKS, DEPUTY-78 is a very unique artist disturbing all the stereotypes about the too academic ElectroTechno productions coming from Germany. A new project signed by that fella is always a surprise, indeed DEPUTY-78 is one of those rare producers to explore each time some new unsecured areas with a real futuristic approach. In a way, his productions can be judged as not really well-structured musically; however it seems that “missing” part give him a more deep experimental production with no boundaries. I mean DEPUTY-78 takes more risks in his music than the most kind of established musicians. So, the new DEPUTY-78’s advanced album « A-Zone Telemetry » is a post-dystopia creation in its finest abstract form, full of tensions provided by the Hi-Tek sounds along with some reminiscence of DUB music captivating your thoughts. That U.F.O worth all the attention of the audience who take cares to the no non-sense music. Highly Recommended!

SCAN 7 is back on TRESOR along with a new EP entitled « The Resistance »

13 years after the masterpiece « Resurfaced », SCAN 7 is back on the Berlin-based TRESOR Records along with a new ep entitled « The Resistance ». Loyal to the original Techno music & to his committed thoughts, the leader of SCAN 7 aka TRACKMASTER LOU has produced a solid 3 tracks Ep. Spreading some militant lyrics, the title track of this vinyl sounds like SCAN 7 has put a magic 90s production out of the UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE‘s mothballs (U.R label was the one that launched SCAN7). Honestly this tune would warm the souls who still miss that time. The 2 others tracks ‘in & out Groove’ & ‘Why not’ are in a way more interesting dropping some 313 atmospheric dark groovy beats. And as the SCAN 7’s usual, his kinda enthusiastic tunes are well made to be played by DJs. With 2 brand new vinyls this month (the other one is the great « Mental Reaction » on Dtrt Undrgrnd™) TRACKMASTER LOU seems to have officially gotten his favorite RX5 machine out again for the best. Therefore we really hope « The Resistance ». EP will announce an entire album on the same imprint, their early underground connection was one of the most important for the foundation of Detroit Techno (2nd generation). Highly Recommended!

Coming from ‘nowhere’, the free compilation entitled « THE ELECTRO COMPENDIUM » did in 3 weeks & still doing a well deserved buzz, broadcasting the robotic music beyond its regular media exposure. Indeed, this attractive project has got the singularity to feature 116 tracks (Yep 116!) representing more than a quarter of the finest producers from the entire underground Electro niche reunited in order to say : the original electronica music is still here in 2012! (In a way, it will probably remind to the large audience what is behind the original name of Electro : Electro Bass, Electro Breaks, Electronica, Idm, Ambient, Hi-Tek…) This appreciated non-profit initiative is signed by the electro band VOLSOC. The entire listening in one-shot is of course not easy according to the 12 hours of music however the quality is maintained all the way. In addition, THE ELECTRO COMPENDIUM’s tracklist in its solid diversity could remind you the quality provided during the SATAMILE Records’ era! Everyone will easily make his own selection into these 116 tracks. THE ELECTRO COMPENDIUM is a real positive pace for electronica music. Recommended!

New release on Music Man Records : ROBERT HOOD « Motor : Nighttime World 3 » Album

ROBERT HOODMotor City

ROBERT HOOD has just released the 3rd installment of Nighttime World Series on the Belgium imprint : Music Man Records. This album comes 12 years after the 2nd volume (on P-Lant – 2000) and 17 years after the 1st volume (on Cheap – 1995) therefore the Detroit-based master ROBERT HOOD has already passed through 3 decades of Minimal Techno production. « Motor : Nighttime World 3 » is a deep project connected to the previous via its straight touch related to the 1st and via its fine groove related to the 2nd. But this album has got also its own strong musical identity (more Acid than the others) and above all its own story. Indeed, about this post-dystopia album ROBERT HOOD has announced that he has been stimulated especially by the chaotic report of the JULIEN TEMPLE’s documentary entitled “Requiem For Detroit?” which is focused on the damage caused by industrialization of Detroit city. As everyone probably knows, at their beginning in 90’s UNDERGROUND RESISTANCE (founded by MIKE BANKS, JEFF MILLS & ROBERT HOOD) have been very influenced by the committed philosophy from the Hip-Hop band PUBLIC ENEMY however despite the fact that MILLS & HOOD are still involved in/with Detroit, according to me, these 2 emancipated soldiers of UR look finally more related to the motto of an other rapper named…RAKIM : “the most important thing isn’t where you’re come from, but where you go”. That remains the real point of Art. Therefore ROBERT HOOD’s production don’t lock the audience up in the Detroit’s darkness but take you somewhere in the future where you will be able to reach a kind of hope.
As his usual, ROBERT HOOD produces his music with a real sincerity, the tracks are solid and the most part deserves easily to be mentioned as masterpieces. This album should speak to any kind of music lovers, even those who aren’t familiar with electronic, indeed this producer has the serious talent to keep a such deep musicality in his no non-sense & raw productions. It’s very fascinating to see & to listen a pioneer from the renowned 92′ Techno period who successes to maintain a such quality of music in 2012! Therefore thumb up, this installment is obviously the best release of this end of summer and also a new awesome piece to add to the timeless series. Highly Recommended!

SHAMELESS TOADY is unquestionably a tasteful label, always looking for new talents & different ways to produce. Here’s their new signature named MICROSLAV, a Croatia-based producer, quite unknown. His second EP entitled “PWM Is The New Cutoff” is promising, indeed this package contains that creative thinking that we can require from the modern electro music (without be disconnected from the legacy of early electro). The tracks are intense due to a moody production built around some friendly modular effects & other bleeps. Let’s the music do the talk :
