Currently better known by the Bass heads for his sounds released under his alias OKTORED, the Detroit based producer COCKY BALBOA is back on the emblematic JUKE TRAX label with a new EP entitled « Jit Town Get Down ». The two first tunes of this project are very close to the 90’s vibes of Ghetto Tek productions when the two other tunes opening smartly on new horizons : mixing the old pattern with new genres of bass music such as the Moombahton. The result is quite catchy & groovy therefore very danceable! Every good things that you can expect from the Ghetto Bass music is in this EP. Recommended!

New release on ICASEA : CYGNUS « Cybercity Z-ro » Album

Posted by on 03/30/2012 | Category : Album-EP Reviews / Stay informed by subscribing to RSS Feeds or to Twitter

After an excellent debut E.P (‘Wrowreck’) released in 2010 on ∆ICASEA label, the producer CYGNUS is back on the same imprint with a fresh album entitled «Cybercity Z-ro». This project features 12 spacey electro tracks along with some lovely dub sounds. To have access to the final level of « Cybercity Z-ro », CYGNUS invites you at a virtual journey into an oniric world. In this one, you are going to meet some dwellers named the ‘Icaseans’ who are also the spiritual neighbors of an old submerged civilization named the ‘Drexciyans’… Just kidding, to seduce the music don’t really need to be translate by some images or some words and the CYGNUS production speaks itself but everyone could imagine his own (abstract) scenario according to this stimulating project. All that to say, the amazing atmospheric vibe of «Cybercity Z-ro» album would remind you the spirit of the DREXCIYA’s «7 Storms series» that is always an appreciated reference when a producer succeed to maintain also his own signature and that’s the case for CYGNUS. So if like us you love to swim in your thoughts from morning till evening, this solid album should be the host of your electronic daydreaming. Recommended!

FOOTWORK or MINDWORK?

Posted by on 08/16/2011 | Category : Future Garage - UKG / Stay informed by subscribing to RSS Feeds or to Twitter

If you put the Chicago’s flavor and the London’s flavor in a test tube, what will be the chemical effect!? Excepted if you firstly thought about old ‘ACID HOUSE music’, it’s pretty difficult to imagine what will be the result… We guess that will be hybrid, but will that be consistent or not!?…
We already know the ‘Juke music’ along with samples of ‘Soul’ (like Dj RASHAD does) and now thanks to the brilliant chemist poetry called MACHINEDRUM we are going to discover a new kind of ‘Juke’ along with some UK ‘Future Garage’ vibes (following the legacy of BURIAL). Dope :
